Welsh in Education – Welsh Language Skill of the Workforce
You will be aware that the Directors of Education contacted the schools within the consortium earlier this year to share information on conducting a Survey of the Education Workforce Welsh language skills (during March/April), and later on you were directly sent a specific link, so that every school had an opportunity to complete the questionnaire.
There was a very positive response, with over 7,000 individuals completing the questionnaire.
Each school in the region will receive an individually tailored report for their school outlining the results. We will also be sending them an ‘interim’ leaflet containing information on existing language training, as well as any language training that’s provided specifically for every County by their authority. The aim is to update and revise this provision in accordance with the findings from the skills survey.
