Additional Learning Needs

ADDITIONAL LEARNING NEEDS TRANSFORMATION PROGRAMME
As part of the wider education reform programme, the Welsh Government is committed to revising the current additional learning needs (ALN) procedures.  The Additional Learning Needs and Education Tribunal (Wales) Bill was passed by the National Assembly for Wales on 12 December 2017 and became law on 24 January 2018.

GwE is working in partnership with all local authorities and the regional transformation lead to support this programme of reform.

G6 DASHBOARD
Since September 2018, a new module has appeared on the G6 dashboard to support the journey towards September 2020.  The module is intended to support schools in readiness, ensuring that all schools are in a strong position to implement the act when it comes into force on 1 September 2020.

If you require further details or assistance with the module, please contact Margaret.davies@sirddinbych.gov.uk

CLUSTER ALN TRANSFORMATION CHAMPIONS
As part of the transformation work, each cluster across north Wales has had the opportunity to nominate one cluster ALN transformation advocate.  The nominated person will be a core part of supporting the cluster in readiness for the new law, which includes ensuring that schools are kept informed to inform and support parents.  We look forward very much to working with our cluster ALN transformation advocates over the next eighteen months.
