Hwb+ News

You will hopefully be aware of the recent Hwb announcement which outlined plans to evolve the tools available in Hwb, such as Office 365 and Just2easy, to include Google for Education. As part of this announcement, they also confirmed the retirement of the Hwb+ Virtual Learning Platform in August 2018.

The Hwb Team will shortly be publishing details and guidance to help schools who are engaged in using Hwb+ to migrate to other alternative Hwb tools.

Their current recommendations are summarised in the table below, but are subject to change to take into account regional, local or individual school priorities.

They are working with the local authorities and regional consortia to identify Hwb+ engaged schools. If you are a school who is actively using the Hwb+ Virtual Learning Platform for activities other than user management (user names and passwords), please confirm directly with hwb@gov.wales to ensure you are included in the migration planning.

Once they have confirmed the schools who are actively engaged in using Hwb+, they will communicate the migration plans which will be based on levels of usage.

If you have any queries regarding the Hwb+ migration approach, please inform the Hwb Team.
